Batten Beats Harrell For Lake View Late Model Win

LAKE VIEW, SC (September 14) – Rocky Mount, NC’s Michael Batten got the better of points leader Shaun Harrell at the start and led the rest of the way for his first Late Model win of the season Saturday night at Lake View Motor Speedway.
Harrell qualified on the pole position with a lap of 16.660 seconds, but Batten was able to get the advantage exiting turn two to take the lead on the opening lap. Following a restart, Harrell lost another position to Bradley McCaskill but was able to retake second a few laps later. Batten led flag-to-flag for his second win of the season over Harrell, McCaskill, Michael Marlowe and David Baker.
Cameron Norris, IV went from fourth to first on the opening lap and led the rest of the way for his second straight Street Stock win. Joey Wilkes and Cameron Holloway were in contention until contact on a restart and later under caution, took away any chances they had of winning. Following Norris to the checkered flag were John Harper Livingston, Robbie Mooneyham, Rocky Gasque, and Landon Tottherow.
Tom Lovett made a three-wide move to the outside of Ed Mason and Anthony Morris entering turn on to take the lead and go on to win the Fred’s Tire & Auto Stock V8 feature. Chip Fenoff was running second until contact with the outside wall on a restart resulted in a broken brake caliper. Following Lovett to the checkered flag were Chucky Nicholson, Derek Kemper, Ed Mason, and Chance Mincey.
Cameron Norris, IV led every lap for his second Modified win of the season over Mike Bowman, Kyle Whitney, Maxx Sumner, and Tim Clemons.
Jason Brown led every lap for his sixth Morrisonbuilt Performance SCDRA Sport Compact/Econo 4 win over Julio Cifuentes, Chelsey Richardson, Patrick Duchaine, and Collin Brown.
The next event at Lake View Motor Speedway will be Saturday night, September 28 featuring the Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models racing for $2500 to win along with Southern Wedge Late Models, Stock V8 going for $1,000 to win, Carolina Outlaw Super Streets, Modifieds, Street Stock, SCDRA Sport Compacts, Econo 4s, and Bell & Bell Vintage Modifieds.
